Dr. Shapiro is a board-certified psychiatrist whose office is in Stamford, Connecticut. Dr. Shapiro is the former Chief of Psychiatry at Stamford Hospital and a former Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has held numerous positions including Clinical Director of the Department of Psychiatry at Westchester County Medical Center, Associate Director of Psychiatric Residency Training at New York Medical College, and for 17 years, was the Chief of the Department of Psychiatry at the Stamford Hospital in Stamford, Connecticut.
Dr. Shapiro specializes in the treatment of adults with depression, anxiety disorders, and mood disorders. He is an experienced psychotherapist who treats both individuals and couples in therapy and has extensive experience in psychopharmacology. As well, Dr. Shapiro practices Forensic Psychiatry and is involved in independent psychiatric consultations and expert witness evaluations in matters of psychiatry and the law.
